The Islamic University of Kyrgyzstan held an educational and awareness-raising lecture entitled “Principles of Justice and Trust in Islam: Promoting Anti-Corruption Culture and Academic Integrity.” The event was aimed at fostering an anti-corruption culture among students, strengthening academic integrity, and promoting spiritual and moral values. The lecture was delivered by Professor A.I. Narmatov, Rector of the Islamic University of Kyrgyzstan. During the event, participants discussed the negative impact of corruption on society and the education system, the personal responsibility of every individual in preventing corruption, as well as the importance of academic integrity, fairness, and ethical conduct in the educational process. In his address, the Rector emphasized the importance of such spiritual and moral values in Islam as justice, honesty, trustworthiness (amanah), integrity in one’s work, and responsibility. It was stressed that countering corruption is not limited to compliance with legal requirements but is also closely connected with a person’s moral principles, conscience, and responsibility to society. Particular attention was paid to the importance of observing the principles of academic integrity, preventing illegal payments and other forms of corrupt practices in the educational environment, and ensuring that students are aware of their rights and responsibilities. The lecture also highlighted the importance of developing a strong rejection of corruption among young people, improving legal awareness, and promoting the principles of justice and social responsibility. The event continued in an open discussion and question-and-answer format, providing students with an opportunity to express their views and discuss issues of particular interest to them. The lecture was held as part of educational and awareness-raising activities supporting the objectives of the State Programme on Anti-Corruption Information Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026–2027, approved by Resolution No. 29 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated January 27, 2026.
