Egdūnas Račius, a well-known scholar from the Republic of Lithuania, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of Islamic Studies at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, visited the Kyrgyzstan Islamic University and delivered a guest lecture for students and faculty members. The main purpose of the lecture was to share international academic experience in the fields of Islamic studies, interreligious relations, and contemporary religious processes in the modern world. Faculty members, students, and researchers of the university actively participated in the event and listened to the professor’s presentation with great interest. During the lecture, Egdūnas Račius spoke in detail about current trends in the development of Islam around the world, the situation of Muslims in Europe, issues of religious identity, and the importance of interreligious dialogue. He also shared his academic views on the role of religious education in the context of globalization, as well as the importance of tolerance and intercultural understanding. At the end of the lecture, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and engage in an open discussion with the professor. Such international-level meetings contribute significantly to broadening students’ academic perspectives, gaining new knowledge, and strengthening academic cooperation.
